Our data retention practices:
- Essential Training Data: We retain power, heart rate, duration, distance, and other performance metrics indefinitely for coaching analysis and progression tracking
- Detailed API Cache: Detailed Strava API response data is automatically cleaned up after 7 days (compliance with Strava's cache requirements)
- Deleted Activities: If you delete an activity from Strava, it will be removed from j4 Coach within 48 hours (compliance requirement)
- Profile Information: Basic athlete profile data is retained for account continuity and coaching personalization
- User Control: You can remove cached API data while keeping training metrics, or completely disconnect your account through settings
5. Your Data Rights
You have the following rights regarding your data:
- Access: You can view all your data within the J4 Coach application
- Cache Removal: You can remove cached Strava API data while keeping essential training metrics
- Complete Deletion: You can completely disconnect your account and delete all training data
- Correction: Data corrections should be made in your Strava account, which will sync automatically
- Withdrawal: You can revoke access permissions at any time through your Strava account settings
- Data Portability: Your training data remains accessible for your coaching needs
6. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data:
- All data transmission occurs over encrypted HTTPS connections
- Access tokens are stored securely and never exposed to clients
- Regular security audits and updates
- Limited access to personal data on a need-to-know basis
